Abbey of San Salvatore and Parteza percorrendoo Via Cavour, the first intersection turn left, following signs Vetta Amiata. At the next intersection, turn right to reach the provincial road 81, which leads to the summit of the mountain. After the old mine, the road enters the forest and climbs up to the first hut at 1270 m. Paths another 700 m, leaving the Sp 18 turn right and continue on the Sp 37 in the direction of the Meadow Macinaie. After a descent of about 700 m, at the junction for Pescina, continue straight to reach the Meadow at an altitude of 1370 m. Macinaie At the intersection turn left on Sp 45, continue up until you arrive at the Prato della Contessa to 1415 m. From this broad green glade, and you continue to go left onto the road to the summit that ends at 1670 m. From here you can eventually walk up to the top of the mountain quota1.745 m. At this point all that remains is to take the long descent to return. At the junction turn right towards Piancastagnaio, retracing the path already made the climb to Prato della Contessa and take left. Even after the crossroads is always kept his left hand, pointing Piancastagnaio. After about 9 km descent, is the junction with the SP 18. Here you turn left again towards Siena and crossed Piancastagnaio, at the next junction turn left for the last time, to quickly reach Abbey.
